description: Use System Bridge from your desktop, including the system tray and app launcher.
---

When System Bridge runs on your desktop, it adds an application menu entry and a system tray icon so you can launch and control it without the terminal.

## Launching

Installing System Bridge adds a **System Bridge** entry to your desktop app launcher: the Start Menu on Windows, or your application menu on Linux. Launch it to start the backend and open the [web client](/using/web-client/).

For terminal launch, services, and autostart, see [Running](/running/).

## System tray

While the backend is running, a System Bridge icon appears in your system tray. Its menu has the following options:

- **Open web client**: open the [web client](/using/web-client/) in your default browser.
- **Open logs directory**: open the folder containing the application logs.
- **Quit**: stop the backend and exit System Bridge.

## Next steps

- Monitor and control your system from the [web client](/using/web-client/).
- See what System Bridge can do under **Features**, starting with [monitoring](/features/monitoring/).
- Prefer the terminal? Use the [CLI](/using/cli/).
